About MedGear Mombasa
Our Organization
MedGear Mombasa is a non-profit organization dedicated to fundraising and purchasing equipment for Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital. After interning at the hospital in summer 2025, we witnessed the pressing need for supplies and equipment. Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital (CGTRH) is a public and underfunded hospital in Mombasa, Kenya, catering primarily to the poorer populations. It plays a crucial role in the community, serving as a referral center and a teaching hospital. We aim to raise funds for essential items such as gloves, surgical gloves, isolation gowns, hand sanitizer, masks, and various equipment including monitors, vital signs, syringes, and IV poles.
Our Mission
Our mission is to bridge the gap in medical equipment and supplies at Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, ensuring that the hospital can continue to provide quality care to the community it serves. By fundraising and sourcing vital items, we strive to enhance the healthcare infrastructure and support the utilities available in each department.
